Here is your chance to vent on all those story lines that LJB has left hanging in the "Cat Who..." series. These topics are areas that a prospective "Cat Who..." author might want to revisit before taking pen (or keyboard) in hand. For example: What will happen to Derek Cuttlebrink and the Grist Mill restaurant now that Liz Hart is dead? Will Polly return from Paris, and if so will Qwill, Brutus and Catta take her back? Will Hixie Rice ever plan an event that is not fraught with disaster? Will Qwill rebuild the barn or move permanently to Indian Village?

Will Derek inherit Liz's money? Will fran or Hixie ever marry? Will any of the convicted murderers get out of prison. Will the people in Mountain ever resurface in a book. Will Lois' son ever have any good luck. How has the down turn in the economy effected the K fund and it's investments. What if bad investments caused Qwill to lose alot of his money? Will Smelled Smoke show that 60 whiskers was just a very bad dream Qwill had after eating stuffed grape leaves at at Oonosh's to late one night. I think Dennis Hough's son, who was a baby in cardinal, and we know Mountain was after Qwill had been in Pickax 5 years, so the baby would be 3 then, and then if you progress through the books, they are written according to seasons, Breakfast in summer, Closet in fall and winter, etc, etc, his son would be 18 by now and arrive in Pickax to find out what happened to the dad he never knew and inherit his estate, the money and property he inherited from his dad who inherited it from Iris who got it by marrying Herb Hackpole for one day. The son could be mean and evil and seeking revenge, or a great guy wanting to know about his past.

I think Qwill will have a casual dining relationship only with Barbara and she will not be a major character. I think Derrick will inherit Liz's money and will be an interesting plot for books to come. Qwill will move into the apt over the carriage house in the summer, spend time at the lake in Mooseville and live in the condo in the winter months. He will continue to gather information for his column and delve into mysterys. He will decide to rebuild the barn in the future but not right away. When he does decide to rebuild it, Coque the architect from down below that he dated in "Danish Modern" will come back into his life to help him. They will date but it will not lead anywhere. By the time the barn is rebuild and Coque moves back down below, Polly's job will be over in Paris. She will have married her boss and they will move back to the USA. She will visit Pickax only once, to settle affairs, and Qwill will see her only from afar on the street with her new husband. He will spend time after this mourning her loss all over again in private. In public he will act as if it does not bother him. He will age, the cats will die, Koko first, and Yum Yum will be his comfort. At this time he will be in his sixties and will re evaluate living his life out alone.

I'd like to know the scoop on Fran Brodie. I think she still has a thing for Qwill and I suspect the feeling is mutual, although he appears to think she is too forward.

It really bothers me that Liz died. I liked her with Derek and wanted to see them grow as a couple, have kids and be pillars of the community. There was no investigation to speak of, and nothing on how Derek was coping with his loss.

Hixie deserves a love interest, too. Is she too old for Derek? With his singing career and her publicity work, perhaps there could be a spark, if the age difference was not too great.

I do think that there is something deep and smoldering between Fran Brodie and Qwill. Perhaps he feels awkward dating the police chief's daugher.

I would love to see more of Celia Robinson's grandson now that he is coming of age. I pictured him studying crime and law, especially after his involvement with his grandmother and Qwill in their escapades. In fact, we need more of Celia. She was a hoot and a half!

While the character of Aubrey Scotten was resolved, I would like to see another book with this character in it, even in a minor role. I also think the Iris Cobb recipe book thief would make a good villan, what was her name.....Ellen Feller?? Can't remember.
