A lover of words and collector of books, Qwill relishes literature but is not a book snob. He buys tattered volumes with missing back covers and allows Koko to push books off the shelf and to use a dictionary as a "scratch pad". You'll find no matched set of leather-bound volumes in Qwill's abode, and his makeshift adjustable shelving is enough to make designer Fran Brodie cringe. But what is important to Qwill are the words themselves, and he loves few things better than to read them aloud to his cats.

In this forum I'd like to get together a list of literary references found in the "Cat Who..." series. They can be authors or titles or both, but make sure to include the book name and chapter number, if you can.

I like when Eddington Smith tells Qwill the reason he can quote famous authors is he has a book of quotations by famous people and he has not read a lot of books even though he made his life's work selling books. I love LJB's spin on this.

I enjoyed the explanation of Oscar Wilde's play The Importance of Being Ernest, in The Cat Who Went Bananas.
