I could see making the blind professor with the seeing eye dog, who taught at the community college either a victim in a new LJB book or a surprise criminal, having figured out how to elimante someone even though he was blind. The seeing eye dog could play an important role in this story.

Also, what about one of Jr.'s siblings get a divorce due to (no one in Moose co. realizes) either alchoholism or drug abuse. He come back to pickax, can't hold a job, is bitter over losing the Goodwinter farmhouse and newspaper. Is bitter of Jr. inheriting the Gage mansion and selling it and he becomes a villan or victim in a book.

What about Liz Hart's rich and bitter mother arriving in town to "take over" her daughter's funeral and estate and fighting Derek over the will that left him heir. She could be a villan. Or a victim.

Maybe Liz's mother intended to "off" Derek and Liz inadvertently got in the way. Perhaps the mother was trying to prevent a marriage, and unbeknown to her Liz and Derek eloped or had a very small civil ceremony with Qwill in attendance. Qwill was always good at keeping confidences.

If the blind professor is the right age, maybe he had had an affair with Liz's mother and was trying to help the mother out by trying to off Derek.

Maybe someone with a better imagination could make a storyline with these characters and write about it.

The Blind Professor is Burgess Campbell. I would like to see him become a victim of some ruthless character who takes advantage of the fact of him being blind. He has been such a sold character in the series, I don't see him as a criminal.

The Liz Heart's mother plot does sound like a winner. I think a lot of people are disappointed that Liz was killed off in a pointless manner and then no follow up was ever made.

Joyce, you are right. Burgess has been a solid character. However, it could be possible for Liz's mother to manipulate the situation through him. Maybe Susan's character Laura and her dog Christie could have some kind of interaction with Burgess and his dog. I don't know how much play time seeing eye dogs get in real life, but it would be cool for the two dogs to be buddies and have some fun together.
