I would like to write a story. I guess to begin you have to pick a topic, characters like who will be the murderer or evil doer, a setting, will it be at the lake or in Pickax, or a trip to somewhere.
Lots of decisions to get started. Our dear LJB covered so many topics she has not left much untouched. Beth covered Big Foot. And stalking. That was a great one to think of. Anne brought back an old, old character, Zoe, another good idea. Susan wrote a rommance story. Praline's From Polly's Point of View was brilliant.
Floods, hurricanes, fires, sinkholes, all covered by LJB. Have we had a tornado? I don't feel inclined to write about Qwill going to rescue Polly in Paris......because I don't acknowledge Sixty Whiskers was written, I pretend it never was written, lol. My way to cope.
I don't want to write a book in which the following people are murdered: Hixie, Fran, Brodie, Qwill, Mildred, Arch, Celia, Roger, Sharon, Jr............Lois, Weatherby, LJB had a way of killing off main characters that we could accept and go on for some reason. She is so gifted.
One topic, child stealing and child molestors.....has this been covered, I could have the McBee boy kidnapped but no, I don't think I could go there, to gross.
This is hard. What about a prequel. A book set in the city before he got the money. A book between Danish Modern and On and off?
Maybe a book on the environment, one of LJB's concerns. An oil spill on the lake in Mooseville and the environment and animals are damage, the K fund could get envolved and an activist protesting the spill come up murdered. Gary Pratt who is on the water with the Hotel Booze has been an active outspoken opponent to the spill and is accused of the murder, and Qwill has to solve the mystery to save Gary Pratt.
This is so hard. I will continue to brainstorm.
