Who can add up the number of murders in the entire series?
Or can anyone add up Qwill's girlfriends he had actual relationships with?

Welcome, Praline! Your suggestions are wonderful! Sharon Feaster's "The Cat Who Companion" has a chapter (#8)ut the women in Qwill's life, but my copy was published in 1998, and I don't know if there is a newer edition.

It would take a sharp mathematician to figure out how many murders in the series, especially when some of the "murders" may have been suicide or accidents, and the causes of some were never determined. Still, with several deaths per book, it could add up.

And I saved this post before I mentioned the "natural disaster" post. This is my favorite!

Here goes:
l. Backwards: Art Gallery owner - Mr. Lambert and KoKo's original owner Mount Clemmons. That is all I can think of.

2. Danizh Modern: I did not like this book and therefore did not pay alot of attention. The sickly wife of the jade owner died of natural causes. The aculptor of junck with a numeral for a name was killed. Or was that in Backwards, I am already confusing myself. Okay that was in Backwards. Geez

3. On and Off - CC Cobb died, Andy the Antique dealer fell on off the ladder and a bum who gave Qwilleran a tip died.

4. Saw Red. William the houseboy, the cat, Jody Graham, the Cook's grandchild.

5. Brahams - Buck Dunsfield, Aunt Fanny, some prisoner that was smuggled out of the prison, and Tom the Handy man.

6. Post Office - whew, will continue later, this is hard

Shakespere: Jr. Goodwinter's father, mother and Harry Noyton died. Then Herb Hackpole died in the fire. In Sniffed Glue, the wrong twin died, David died and Harley's preggers wife died (so baby died too), then Chad Lanspeak was killed in a car crash.

In Underground, we had carpenters killed by a seriel killer: Iggy, Two young men, the Captain who was not really a captian.

In Lived High: Lots of people died in a fire bombing of the old hotel/rooming house. We are not sure if the Countess died. Then someone stole Qwills car and crashed and died in the Purple Plum.
Diane, the person who lived in Qwill's apt before he did died. Stabbed.

In Ghosts the most wonderful Iris Cobb died and I am still not over that one.
Then Kristy's ex con ex hubby died in the woods.

In Cardinal, Grummy died in Lockmaster. The Cardinal died. Van De Brook the principal of the school died.

How many is that so far, and I am sure I have missed some.

whewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
helpppppppp

Good idea, Heidi!

And...who owned the cats (or perhaps the working description is what humans the cats owned!)

Koko and YumYum --it goes without saying

Toulouse belonged to Arch and Mildred Riker
Jet Stream belonged to Weatherby Goode

Nicodemus belonged to Nick and Lori Bamba

Winston was Eddington Smith's

Tipsy was the mascot for Tipsy's Tavern

And Don't forget Brutus and Catta, Polly Duncan's cats

Well he never owned a blue truck, but they played an important part in Brahams and were mentioned in other books.

And then a husky dog sled was in a book.

An RV camper in Shakespere, owned by Hixie Rice.

Old People trivia, LJB loved to write about "Old timers"

We don't see this as much in the early "city books" but more so after Qwill arrives in Moose County.

Homer Tibbets and Rhoda
Owner of the Apartment house in The Cat Who Lived High, can't remember her name
Grammy in The Cat Who Knew a Cardinal
Old Granny Coggins in The Cat Who Sang for Birds
Old Granny in The Cat Who Moved a Mountain
Mrs. Euphonia Gage
Mrs. Carroll the widow of the doctor in Cat Who Knew a Turkey

And who could forget all the oldtimers Qwill interviewed for his oral history project. Emma Woolsey for example. It is hard to remember all their names without looking in books.

Does Thelma Thackery fit the description?

Yes Thelma Thackery

Is it my imagination, but the love of old people did not appear until after he left the big city down below and arrived at Moose County. The only older person I remember in the city books was the potter in The Cat Who Saw Red. The one who told him about the history of the boarding house and the Penniman connection.

Well there was a cranky old antique shop owner in The Cat Who Turned On and Off but she was not given very much mention.

Another trivia I reflect on is the errors in the books, when Mrs. Braun contradicts herself.

Example: Confused and says Melinda got Qwill not to smoke, when it was Rosemary.

Another was it was well established Lori had two long blonde braids and in a more recent book it calls lori dark haired.

Those two I hate the most.
