Very interesting article about Persephone Books--a publisher and bookseller who does kind of what we do, but for print.

I like the term "Spinster Lit". Apparently the owner started Persephone Books because she couldn't find any of these great books by women in print anymore. Only problem is, now that they're in print, I can't ever find them in ebook! Sounds like we might need to do something about that..eh?
Thanks to Vintage Reads for the link.

This looks like GirleBooks in real space. How strange! I guess a few of her titles would be eligible for GEB. I wonder what she does about copyrights.

Hi! I recently came upon Girlebooks (although I'm sad to say I can't remember exactly how I got here). I'm always on the look out for books written by and about women so I'm glad to see the work that you ladies are doing. I also read Persephone. Virago Press is another UK publisher that publishes work written by women. Their Virago Modern Classics series reprints forgotten women's work.
Anyhow, glad to be here and to meet you all!

Hi Danielle, great to have you here! I had heard of Virago--looks like they've been around a long time. It seems that the UK has all the interesting publishers like this. I can't think of a US publisher that does similar (other than us, of course). Feel free to recommend books to us that you think would fit in oru catalog. It seems from your blog you're quite knowledgeable and interested in the books we're looking to dig up.

Thanks for the warm welcome. You're right I haven't yet found a US publisher that does what your group is doing. I was very glad to find you all. Besides reading wonderful books written by women, your site will help me delve into ebooks.
