“The Secret Garden” and “Heidi” free ebooks

This week we have two new young adult ebooks to add to our growing collection.

First is The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. First published in 1909, it is one of Burnett’s most popular novels and is considered a classic of children’s literature. It was also beautifully adapted to the big screen in 1993.Read our review of The Secret Garden here.

Our other free ebook is Heidi by Johanna Spyri. Written in 1880, the Heidi books are the best known works of Swiss literature (to Americans anyway). The story focuses on events in the life a young orphan sent to live with her grumpy grandfather in the Swiss Alps.
