You may have noticed a little slowdown in site activity at Girlebooks. We’ve been doing some website housekeeping. Notably, our entire catalog is now available through Amazon’s Kindle ebook store. You can take links from our ebook catalog to the appropriate page on Amazon’s website to send the ebook to your Kindle.
I acquired a Kindle recently, so I can give a mini-review of it here. After years of reading on my PDA, it is quite pleasant to read on the Kindle’s larger screen. The clarity of the font is remarkable. The main drawback for me is not being able to read in the dark–I like reading in bed and not bothering my husband, or just dropping off to sleep when I felt like it, not having to turn off the light. Aside from that, I am pleased. It is much smaller and more ergonimic than I imagined. With it’s included leather cover closed, it looks like a datebook. I’m also looking forward to having Amazon’s large ebook catalog at my disposal. There’s still no Georgette Heyer or Wide Sargasso Sea, but I’m confident the selection will widen with time. If you’re curious about the Kindle, you can read more about it on Amazon’s website.
In other site news, we now have a slick rating and review system for our ebook catalog. On each ebook detail page, there is a place for you to add your star rating and, optionally, your review of the ebook. Click here to go to our ebook catalog and add your rating or review! We hope you like the changes, and now back to publishing ebooks.
